- Prepare 500 g Beetroot, chopped into small pieces
- You need 4 tsp Vegetable oil
- Prepare 1 tsp Urad Dal (soak in 2 Tbsp. water for 20 min)
- Provide 11/2 tsp Mustard seeds
- Provide 1 tsp Ginger, grated
- Take 2 Green chillies, slit into half
- Get 10-12 Curry leaves
- Use 1/4 cup desiccated coconut
Instructions to make Beetroot poriyal by @Radikalkitchen:
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Once the oil is hot, add urad dal,, mustard seeds, let them crackle for a few seconds.
- Add green chilli, ginger and curry leaves and cook for another few seconds.
- Now add the beetroots. Mix well. Add the salt. Cover and cook on low heat for 8-10 minutes. The beetroots should be cooked al dente.
- Add desiccated coconut and mix well.
