There’s hope. Kids need some extra encouragement and guidance along with a few of these strategies your child is sure to eat healthy.
Be a gatekeeper.
It’s very likely that the easiest way to get your children to eat healthy is to eliminate the less-healthy options. Take control on what food and snack options are in your house. If a kid is hungry they’ll eat it whenever there isn’t another alternative. Have you ever heard of a child starving to death since his parents wouldn’t feed him potato chips?
Maintain healthy meals in sight.
As for those less-than-good-for-you foods, keep them in high cabinets and out of your child’s reach. Arrange your refrigerator and cabinets to ensure healthy foods will be the primary foods which you see. In the event you choose to have some unhealthy choices in the house keep them out of sight and you and your kids will be much less likely to choose them as an option.
Make healthy meals convenient.
Wholesome foods, especially fruits and vegetables need little preparation which is good for your’starving' kid and you. Take a fruit jar in eye level on the counter whatsoever times or have a container with carrots and celery sticks ready to go from the refrigerator. You might not be aware of how many more fruits and vegetables your kid will consume simply by using them visible and easy to catch.
Make learning about meals fun.
Taking some of the mystery from where foods come from may work wonders for some discerning eaters. Prepare family dishes together, have your kid mix the ingredients and serve the meals to the rest of the family. Plant a vegetable garden for a family project and place your child responsible for watering and picking the ripe vegetables. Children who are involved are far more likely to be a willing participant during the eating procedure.
Keep Your Eye on Portion sizes.
Parents often stress how much their children should be eating.
