  1. Use 1/2 cup toor dal
  2. Provide 1 cup palak cheera / chopped
  3. Take 1/2 cup coconut coconut grated
  4. Provide 1/4 tsp turmeric powder

  6. Provide 1/8 tsp jeera
  7. Provide 1 nos tomato sliced
  8. Take 2 tsps oil

  11. Prepare 2 nos red chilli dry (halved)
  12. Take 3 sprigs curry leaves
Instructions to make Parippum Cheerayum:
  1. Pressure cook  dal with turmeric powder for 4-5 whistles
  2. Add chopped cheera /palak along with sliced tomato,kashmiri chilli powder and cook for 3-4 mins.
  3. Make a smooth paste of grated coconut and jeera. Add this to the cooked dal and cheera mixture. Add 1/4 cup of  boiled water if the curry is very thick. You can add salt as per your taste at this stage.
  4. When it starts boiling switch off the stove.
  5. Heat oil in a pan,splutter mustard seeds, when it crackles add dry red chilies, curry leaves and jeera. Pour the seasoning over the curry.
  6. Serve hot with rice/roti.
