The ingredients needed to make Aloo Bonda:
- Prepare 4 boiled potatoes
- Prepare 1 red onion
- Take handful Spinach
- Provide Salt, red chilli powder, garam masala, turmeric powder
- Take 1 green chilli optional
- Prepare Curry leaves optional
- Use Cooking oil
- Take handful Coriander finely chopped
- Use 1 cup gram flour
Instructions to make Aloo Bonda:
- Mash the potatoes, add chopped green chilli, red onion, salt, red chilli powder, 2 teaspoons garam masala, 1 teaspoon turmeric powder, coriander and spinach. Mix well.
- In a bowl add gram flour, a pinch of salt, and 1 cup water. Stir well. Make sure there are no lumps. Check the consistency. It shouldn't be thick nor too runny.
- Heat oil in a deep pot for frying. Make palm sized balls of the mashed potato mixture.
- Dip the ball in the gram flour batter. Coat it well.
- Drop it carefully in the hot oil to fry. It should turn into golden brown colour. Turn it to cook from all sides. It should look like this.
