- Take 5 tomatoes
- Get 2 tbsp fresh coconut grated

Steps to make Thakkali Chutney:
- Heat oil. Add cumin Seeds. Add crushed garlic and red chillies and saute for 10 15 seconds on low flame.
- Collect all ingredients and chop tomatoes lengthwise. Chop coconut in smaller pieces.
- Add chopped tomatoes, jaggery and salt. Cook on high flame for 5 minutes. Reduce flame place lid and cook tomatoes appear slightly mashed.
- Remove lid and cook till water evaporated. Switch off the flame and cool. Grind cooked tomato mixture and fresh coconut to a paste.
- Heat 1 tsp Cooking Oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and when mustard seeds splutter put curry leaves and sauté for a second.
- Immediately add tomato paste and 1/2 cup water. Simmer on low flame for 7-8 minutes. Switch off the flame.
- Remove it in a serving bowl. Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve with idli, dosa, rice, uttapam or any snack. Can be stored for 10 days in refrigerator.
