- You need 100 gm whole moong (lentil)
- Take 1 cup cabbage chopped
- Prepare 1 cup pumpkin chopped
- Prepare 1 onion chopped
- You need 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- Take 1 tomato
- Use 2 tbsp Tata sampann dal tadka masala
- Get 1.5 tsp salt
- Prepare 1/4 tsp chilli powder
- Provide 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- Get 2 green chilli slit
- Take 6 garlic cloves
- Provide 3 tbsp oil
- Prepare 2 tbsp cream
- Use 1/4 tsp garam masala
Instructions to make Cabbage and pumpkin tadka dal:
- Wash and soak whole moong overnight.. wash again in the morning and boil with 1 tsp salt, chilli and turmeric powder… with enough water to cover the lentil… pressure cook for 4 -5 whistles. Keep aside to cool.
- Heat 2 tbsp oil in a kadhai, then add chopped onions and fry till golden, add chopped tomatoes, saute then add ginger garlic paste, tadka dal masala, 1/2tsp salt and mix… add a little water to cook everything on medium flame… cook till the oil leaves sides.
- Add chopped cabbage and pumpkin mix well, add a little water and cover lid, let it cook till the veggies are tender.
- Once the vegetable is cooked, add the cooked moong to it and mix well, add chopped coriander and slit green chillies, garam masala and cream… mix well
- Tempering: heat oil in a tadka pan, add chopped garlic and fry till golden… pour this over the tadka and serve hot.
