  2. Take 1/4 Cup Chana Dal

  15. Prepare Pinch Of Asafoetida
  16. Prepare 1 Tsp Green Chilies, Finely Chopped

  18. Get Red Chilli Powder As Per Taste
  19. Use 1 Tsp Coriander Powder
  20. Take 1 Tsp Garam Masala Powder
  21. Prepare 1 Tbsp Kasuri Methi

  23. Get 1 Tbsp Coriander Leaves, Chopped
Steps to make Dal Tadka:
  1. Rinse the dal. In a pressure cooker add the rinsed dal, turmeric powder, salt, tomatoes, chopped ginger, chopped onions, and water.
  2. Pressure cook for 4 whistles. Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid. - Open the lid and whisk dal. Keep it aside.
  3. Heat ghee in a pan. - Add cumin seeds and let them splitter.
  4. Now add the ginger, garlic and sauté for a minute.
  5. Add onions and saute until the onions are golden brown. - Now add a pinch of asafetida, and chopped green chilies, and sauté for a minute.
  6. Now add the chopped tomatoes and let it cook for 3-4 minutes.
  7. Now add 1/2 cup of water and let it boil for another 2 minutes.
  8. Ass red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, kasuri methi, coriander leaves and salt.
  9. Mix well and let it cook for 3 minutes. - Now transfer the pressure cooked dal into this tadka masala and mix properly.
  10. Serve hot with paratha or chapati.
