  7. Take 1 teaspoon turmeric powder

  12. Take 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  13. Take 5-6 cloves garlic
Steps to make Dal Tadka:
  1. Wash the Dal 3-4 times and soak them in a warm water for 15-20 minutes. Drain the water and add the Dal to a pressure cooker. Also add 3 cups of Water.
  2. Add salt and turmeric powder to Dal and stir to mix. Close the lid of pressure cooker and cook till you get 1 whistle.
  3. Add some ghee in a pan. Add mustard seeds when ghee becomes hot. Then add chopped onions to the pan along with finely chopped ginger, garlic and green chillies. Fry till the onion turn golden brown.
  4. Now add chopped tomatoes and fry till it cooked. Add red chilli powder and garam masala to gravy. Cook for 2 minutes. Add the Dal to prepared onion,tomato masala and mix well.
  5. Dal tastes best when it served hot along with rice or bread.
