The ingredients needed to make Mix Dal:
- Provide 1 cup toor dal
- Take 1/2 cup chana dal
- Take 1/2 cup green moong dal
- Use 1/2 cup masoor dal
- Take 1/2 cup black lentils

- You need 1 tbsp Cumin seeds
- Prepare 2 tbsp Cumin powder
- You need 1/2 tbsp Turmeric powder
- Provide 1 tbsp Red chilliy powder
- Use 2 tbsp Garam masala
- Provide 1 cup Onions
- Get 1 cup Tomato puree
- You need 2 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
- Get 2 tbsp Green chillies
- Take 2 tbsp Butter/Desi ghee
Instructions to make Mix Dal:
- Take a pressure cooker and add all the soaked lentils together in it
- Add 2cups of water and salt as per your taste.
- Mix it well and give 3-4 whistles to it.
- Open the lid and you will find the lentils are boiled.
- Now take a kadai and heat butter to it.
- Add cumin seeds to it.
- Once the oil is heated add sliced onions to it.
- Fry the onions until it turns to golden brown.
- Add ginger garlic paste to it.
- Add green chillies to it.
- Mix it well.
- Now add tomato puree to it.
- Cook it for few minutes.
- Now add jeera powder, turmeric powder,red chilliy powder and garam masala to it.
- Mix it all well
- Now cook the masala mixture until it separates oil from it.
- U can also add salt as per your taste bcz once salt it already added while boiling the lentils.
- Now after few minutes add the boiled lentils to the masala mixture.
- Cook it for another 2-3 minutes so that the lentils soaks the masala texture into it.
- U can also give the tadka or red chillies. It's upto you.
- Garnish it with coriander leaves and fresh cream in to the top.
- Step 20 and 21 is completely optional.
- Serve it hot with rice and chapati.
- Note–All the lentils to be soaked for 4-5 hours
