- Collect all dal washed and soaked in water for half an hour
- Remove excess water.
- Heat a cooker add ghee, cumin seeds, asafoetida powder, bay leaves, cinnamon sticks, cloves and pepper, add brown cardamom seeds remove the peel. Slightly roast.

- Add curd in small portion and stir it.
- Now boiled the dal. Switch off the flame.
- For tempering - add ghee in a tadka pan add cumin seeds reduce flame, add dry red chillies. Turn off flame and add red chilli powder.,
- Add tadka over dal. Slightly mix it.
