- Prepare 3/4 Cup Mix of 5 Dals (Moong dal ( Green Gram), Toor Dal, Masoor Dal, Urad dal & Gram dal )

- Prepare 1,1/2 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
- Provide 1/2 tbsp Red Chilli Powder
- Use 1 tsp Coriander Powder
- Prepare 1/2 tsp Turmeric a Powder
- Use 1/4+ 1/4 tsp Asafetida
- Take 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
- Get For seasoning (Tadka)
- Get As required Oil
- Provide 1 tsp Mustard
- Get 1 tsp Cumin
- Provide As required Curry leaves
- Provide 2/3 Cardamom
- Use 1 Cinnamon
- Provide 3/4 Cloves
- Get 1 Bay leaf
- You need As required Cilantro for garnishing
Steps to make Panchratna Dal:
- Wash with water and soak the dals in water for 2/3 hrs. Pressure cook for 4-5 whistles, with Turmeric powder and Asafetida. Keep aside. Mash the Dal partially.
- Heat oil a Kadai. Add Mustard (splutter), Cumin, Curry leaves, Clove etc., (mentioned for Tadka), Dry red Chillies & sauté. Add the Onions and sauté till translucent. Add Ginger garlic paste and sauté till raw smell is gone.
- Add chopped Tomato and sauté till mushy. Add Red Chilli powder, Turmeric Powder, Coriander Powder, Asafetida and mix well.
- Add the Cooked dal with water (to desired consistency) along with Salt to taste and Garam Masala. Cook for another 2-3 minutes. Transfer to serving bowl and Garnish with finely chopped Cilantro. Serve hot with Indian breads or with Rice.
- Pancharatna Dal is ready.
