  2. Provide 1 cup Mixed Dal [ equal amounts of yellow moong daal, tur daal, Urad daal, masoor daal and chana daal]

  5. Take 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds (Jeera)
  6. Provide Pinch Asofoetida (Hing)

  8. Provide 2 Green chillies slit
  9. Prepare 2 Tomatoes finely chopped
  10. Take 1 tsp red chilli powder
  11. Use 1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
  12. Use 1/2 tsp coriander - cumin powder (dhaniya-jeera)
  13. Use 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  14. Use 1 tsp lemon juice
  15. Prepare Coriander (finely chopped) to garnish
  16. Take Salt as per taste
  17. Prepare for baati
  18. Prepare 2 cups -Wheat flour
  19. Use 2 Tbsp Sooji (Rava or Semolina)
  20. Get 1/4 tsp salt less than
  21. Provide 3-4 Tbsp Ghee
  22. Use Melted Ghee to serve
  23. Prepare for churma
  24. Get 2 prepared baati
  25. Take Powder sugar as per sweetness required
  26. Get 2-3 Tbsp sliced nuts (almonds, pista)
  27. You need Pinch Cardamom powder
  28. Prepare 1-2 Tbsp ghee
Instructions to make Daal Baati Churma:
  1. Steps for daal
  2. Wash all the daal together and soak it for half an hour. Pressure cook the dal for 3 whistles. Roughly blend the boiled daal to a coarse consistency.
  3. Heat ghee in a pan and add rai, jeera, chillies, hing, curry leaves and chopped tomatoes sauté for 2 to 3 minutes till tomatoes soften.
  4. Add salt, red chilli powder, haldi, dhaniya jeera powder and garam masala give it a mix. then add boiled daal to it.
  5. Add water if needed. Add lemon juice and chopped coriander and let it cook for few more minute. Stir in between as daal might stick to the bottom of the pan and finally turn the flame off.
  6. Steps for baati
  7. Mix flour, salt, oil/ ghee in bowl and knead a stiff dough using water. Make 8-10 equal sized balls out of it and place them on a greased baking tray.
  8. Preheat the oven and bake the baatis on 180 degree centigrade for 25 to 30 minutes. (Turn the side after 15 minutes)
  9. Check by pricking a tooth pick in it. It should come out clean.
  10. Remove the baatis from oven. - Keep 2 Batis aside and soak rest of the battis in a cup of ghee. - alternatively just pour 1-2 tsp of ghee on it and let it soak for 5 minutes. - Take it and put in a plate keep aside.
  11. Steps for churma
  12. Break battis coarsely grind it in a mixer. - Transfer it in a mixing bowl
  13. Add powder sugar, cardamom powder, sliced nuts and ghee. - Mix well
  14. FINALLY, Garnish Daal with chopped coriander leaves and serve it with Batti & Churma Add ghee and red garlic chutney for batter flavour. (optional)
