The ingredients needed to make Daal Gosht:
  1. Get 1 1/2 cups Bengal Gram or Chana Daal soaked
  2. Use 1/2 (1 kg) Mutton Bone-in
  3. Take 2 tsp Ginger garlic paste
  4. Take 1 tsp Salt or to taste
  5. Take 1 tsp Cumin powder roasted
  6. Get 2 tsp Red Chilli powder
  7. Prepare 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  8. Prepare 1 tsp Chana Masala
  9. Use 3 tbsp Oil
  10. Use 2 Onions finely chopped
  11. You need 1 small bunch Coriander Leaves finely chopped
  12. You need 2 Green Chillies finely chopped
  13. Use 1 tsp Dry Mango powder or Amchur homemade
Instructions to make Daal Gosht:
  1. Soak Dal for about 3 hours. Boil with little Salt and set aside. It should be firm yet soft. Water quantity should be as minimal as possible. In a Pressure Cooker, heat Oil and saute Onions with Ginger garlic paste until light brownish in colour. Add Green Chillies and Mutton Bone-in now. Mix well and saute for 5 minutes. Add the rest of the ingredients and pressure cook on high for 8 whistles or as required.
  2. To this cooked meat, add in the boiled Dal and give them all a good mix. Take care while mixing so that Dal doesn't break up. Simmer on a low heat for about 15 more minutes. The consistency is semi dry. Do not add more water.
  3. Garnish with lots of freshly chopped Coriander Leaves. Serve piping hot with Rice and any side dish of your choice. Enjoy!
