  2. Prepare 1/4 cup channa dal

  1. Wash and soak channa dal for 4 hours. Peel and chop bottle gourd into cubes.
  2. In pressure cooker add and heat oil. Add mustard seeds & cummin seeds as it splutter,add green chillies pieces, curry leaves and asafoetida.
  3. Add soaked channa dal and bottlegourd pieces. Mix and saute for 2 mins.
  4. Add salt,red chilli powder, dhania jeera powder, jaggery and cocum. Mix well. Add 1/2 glass of water(as bottle gourd will leave water during pressure cook) and pressure cook for 4-5 whistles. If there is more water after opening the cooker lid in subzi, then cook on medium flame for few minutes.
  5. Serve/Relish Delicious Hot Bottle gourd- Channa dal Subzi with wheat phulka roti, dal.
